Literature Text

Ocean felt a tugging on his jeans and looked down.  There was a medium sized grey tabby cat tugging at the bottom of his jeans with its mouth.  Ocean wiped the tears from his eyes and put his hand on the cat's head gently.

"So, little cat, what do you want?"  As he said this, the cat watched him with human understanding, and concern.  It walked around in a circle and meowed, as if beckoning Ocean to come with him.  "Okay, I'll come with you."  The cat probably wanted someone to play with, or some food.  Something to get his mind off of Kiera.  Ocean stood up and looked down at the cat.  It again walked in a circle, this time around his feet.  Then it began walking down the sidewalk.  A little ways down, it glanced back at Ocean, who wasn't following.  The cat went back to Ocean and walked forward again, as if trying to make Ocean follow.  This time, he followed the grey tabby along the sidewalk.  The cat was dirty and wet, probably a stray.  But the cat did have one thing: personality.  The cat was sort of running, as if it had to get somewhere.  But, a cat walking fast was about the speed Ocean walked normally, so he had no troubles keeping up with the grey cat.

They came to a turn in the sidewalk.  The cat stopped for a short second before running quickly around the corner.  Ocean followed the tabby cat again, around the corner.  A little bit of a ways down the sidewalk, the grey cat was pacing in front of a girl who was leaned up against the red brick wall, with her eyes closed.  Her face looked as if she was in pain.  She looked like she'd collapse any second.  Ocean walked down the remaining sidewalk that separated him from the girl.  Ocean looked down at the cat.

"You want me to help her?  But what can I do?"  Ocean never learned any first aid, thinking he'd never need it.  He now wished he knew something at least.  He tried thinking of what to do.  Could he trust this girl with the knowledge that he was an alchemist?  He wasn't sure.  He gently took her arm and rested two fingers on her arm, checking for a pulse.  He felt her pulse, which was too fast for her to be okay, and Ocean knew he had to do something, anything to help her.  He also noticed that, embroidered on her arm warmers, were transmutation circles.  She was also an alchemist.  He let her arm fall back to her side and glanced around, making sure the area was free of any onlookers who may see what he was about to do.  Deciding that the area was free of anyone for as far as he could see, he put his palms down to the ground.  He focused his energy towards the ground and brought his hands, and the ground up.  He raised the sidewalk so it would be like a bed to allow the girl to lay dawn.  He stood up straight again and turned to the girl.  He put a hand on her shoulder and whispered in her ear, "You'll be okay, I promise."  He leaned down, keeping his hand on her shoulder, and put his arm behind her knees and lifted her off the ground.  He turned to the makeshift stone bed and lowered her down gently.
I'll have to figure out how to make the literature tag work better... This is chapter 4 of :iconfadingpast: and my role play. She has chapters one and three, and I have two and four. I highly encourage you to read them.
